Working with Global Vision 2020 to support vision correction worldwide
Founded by Oxford Physics Professor Joshua Silver, inventor of the Adspecs, the Centre for Vision in the Developing World performs the scientific research necessary to provide effective, sustainable and clinically validated vision correction in parts of the world that currently lack it.
The Centre is partnering with Global Vision 2020 to support our efforts, provide validated training materials based on the latest vision science and assist in deployment methods and research.
Their website contains a wealth of information on vision correction in the developing world, including:
- The Two Minute Intro A quick introduction to the need for vision correction and why self-adjustable eyeglasses work so well
- Correction techniques Information on ways to correct vision, including a primer on self-refraction.
- Adjustable lenses The technologies that can be used in adjustable glasses.
- Child Self Refraction Study An exciting World Bank funded study to determine the applicability of self-refraction to teenagers.
We're delighted to have the Centre on board, and look forward to working with them on new projects in the future.
