Centre for Vision in the Developing World

Founded by Oxford Physics Professor Joshua Silver, inventor of the Adspecs, the Centre for Vision in the Developing World performs the scientific research necessary to provide effective, sustainable and clinically validated vision correction in parts of the world that currently lack it.

The Centre is partnering with Global Vision 2020 to support our efforts, provide validated training materials based on the latest vision science and assist in deployment methods and research.

Himalayan Cataract Project

The Himalayan Cataract Project’s top priority is to reach the greatest number of unserved blind people, with the highest quality care, at the lowest possible cost. HCP was founded in 1995. Since then it has become a leader in international health innovation in the developing world based on its unrivaled model in eye care.

The Himalayan Cataract Project are Global Vision 2020's partners on the UNDP Millennium Promise Village programs. We recently traveled with them to Malawi in order to provide a complete eye health program, and to trial the use of Global Vision 2020's distribution model in other Millennium Promise Villages.

Eyejusters

Eyejusters are a new way to help the world see. They are revolutionary new self-adjustable glasses that look like normal glasses. With metal frames, rectangular lenses and amazing SlideLens technology, these are the next generation of glasses that will help hundreds of millions of people see clearly.

Global Vision 2020 works closely with Eyejusters to help develop and improve the glasses, and will be distributing them as part of our projects very soon.
